Riverside, Calif., re-ups ACS for IT outsourcing services

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. will continue handling business process and IT outsourcing services for the city of Riverside, Calif., under a one-year contract worth $5.5 million.

Under the contract, the Dallas-based company will deliver IT services to support the city's infrastructure, applications and business objectives.

The new agreement covers migration to Microsoft Exchange, co-management of major city technology initiatives and the services of local Riverside technology vendors.

The contract contains five one-year options that could raise the value to $30 million, if all options are exercised.

ACS offers business process and outsourcing IT services to government and commercial customers.

The company, which has more than 55,000 employees and had annual sales of $4.3 billion in fiscal 2005, ranks No. 48 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of federal IT prime contractors.
