The General Services Administration needs local telecommunications services for federal agencies in New York and New Jersey. The contracts will replace the Metropolitan Area Acquisition contracts.Contractors must provide switch-based voice service, analog business service and voice over IP and wireless services. They also must offer upgrades and enhancements throughout the life of the contracts.The New York MAA contract will expire in May 2007, and the Buffalo MAA contract will expire in February 2008. The new contracts will be for two years with three one-year options.Responses are due by June 15. Contact Albert Viscione at albert.viscione@gsa.gov.The Architect of the Capitol is looking for a television backup system for network and cable TV programming, as well as internally generated coverage of legislative hearings.The backup system for the present satellite source will be used in the event of equipment failure or weather-induced damage to ensure programming will be uninterrupted.The system comprises 18 channels, including news, financial and business information and other material. This content is combined with other programming and internally generated material and transmitted to users across Capitol Hill.Responses are due by June 29. The Defense Department will need similar displays while it works on developing an upgrade to the H-60 avionics suite, the complete implementation of which is not expected until 2026.New technologies such as quantum dot technology and ultraviolet LED may be used.The general specifications for the replacements include sunlight readable capabilities and typical aircraft usage requirements related to temperature, viewing angle, life, vibration resistance, humidity, altitude and moisture resistance.Responses are due by Nov. 30.
