CACI posts strong third quarter performance

CACI International Inc. today reported record revenue of $435.4 million for its third fiscal quarter ended March 31, an increase of $20.4 million, or 4.9 percent, over revenue for the same period in fiscal 2005.

The Arlington, Va., systems integrator also reported third-quarter net income of $21.4 million, or $0.69 per diluted share, a 5.2 percent increase over net income of $20.3 million, or $0.66 per diluted share for the same period in fiscal 2005.

During its fiscal third quarter, CACI was one of seven companies selected to compete for task orders under a 10-year, $19.3 billion program to provide engineering, logistics and acquisition service support for Army command, control, communication, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems.

CACI also won one of two prime contracts on the Army's $450 million Engineering, Technical and Operations Support Services program.

The company also completed its $145 million cash purchase of Information Systems Support Inc. of Gaithersburg, Md., which provides IT solutions primarily to the federal government

CACI also signed an agreement to acquire AlphaInsight Corp., a Falls Church, Va., company that specializes in network services and related capabilities, although the deal's terms were not disclosed. CACI expects to close the transaction on May 1.

The company also issued revised guidance for the fourth quarter of its fiscal 2006 and for the entire year. It expects fourth-quarter revenue of $470 million to $490 million, and total year revenue of $1.748 billion to $1.768 billion.

CACI, which has about 10,100 employees and had annual revenue of more than $1.6 billion for fiscal 2005, ranks No. 17 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors. The 2006 Top 100 list will be released May 15.
