EPA taps Alion for support services
The Environmental Protection Agency will rely on Alion Science and Technology Corp. for a variety of services to support the operations of the agency's environmental services assistance team for Region 7.
The Environmental Protection Agency will rely on Alion Science and Technology Corp. for a variety of services to support the operations of the agency's environmental services assistance team for Region 7.
Terms of the ESAT contract call for Alion of McLean, Va., to provide services to an area that encompasses Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa under the $19.4 million contract.
Alion will manage sample analysis, analytical and field support services, and quality assurance support for the EPA's Region 7 Science and Technology Center. The company also will handle data review and validation, technical information and electronic data transfers.
Furthermore, the company will help the Solid Waste Office and the Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation to meet environmental law requirements.
Alion also works with the agency's ESAT team in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.
Alion, which has about 1,700 employees and revenue of $369.2 million in fiscal 2005, ranks No. 63 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal IT prime contractors. The 2006 Top 100 list will be released on May 15.
