Missouri county taps Tyler for tax software

Tyler Technologies won a $1.1 million contract from Jefferson County, Mo., to deliver its Web-based, integrated property assessment system.

Tyler Technologies won a $1.1 million contract from Jefferson County, Mo., to deliver its Web-based, integrated property assessment system.

Under the contract, Tyler of Dallas will implement the property tax engine and software suite as well as furnish maintenance and support for the offices of the Jefferson County assessor and collector.

The company's integrated assessment software suite includes modules for computer-assisted mass appraisal, assessment administration, and tax and billing collection. It also offers inquiry and appeals tracking, personal property management and data maintenance functions.

Tyler has installed its tax software in other Missouri counties, such as Greene, Jasper and St. Louis. Jefferson County, which encompasses about 657 square miles, has more than 100,000 parcels of property. It is the second fastest growing county in the Show Me State.

Tyler has about 1,400 employees and had annual sales of about $170 million in fiscal 2005, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
