LANDesk goes down a NewRoad


LANDesk, a maker of integrated systems and security management solutions, plans to integrate NewRoad Software technologies with its systems and security management products.

NewRoad technologies will be available both as standalone and as add-ons to LANDesk products.


GD done with FC Business buy

General Dynamics Corp. completed its acquisition of engineering and IT services provider FC Business Systems Inc., Fairfax, Va. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The privately owned company will become part of General Dynamics Network Systems business unit. More than half of FC Business Systems' 1,000 employees hold security clearances.


ACS takes itself off block

One of two systems integrators exploring whether to sell their business to private-equity investors has decided not to sell.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. of Dallas said that recent unsolicited discussions with private-equity investors about selling the company have ended.

Still up in the air: a possible purchase of Computer Sciences Corp. by Hewlett-Packard Co. and private-equity groups led by the Blackstone Group.


ITS gets some Leads

ITS Corp. acquired Leads Corp., an Arlington, Va., firm that specializes in acquisition management and consulting, technology management and enterprise modernization services for the federal government. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition strengthens Oxnard, Calif.-based ITS' systems acquisition and technology management services and creates core capabilities in enterprise modernization.


Viisage sees Identix in future

Viisage Technology Inc., Billerica, Mass., will buy Identix Inc. for $770 million in an all-stock transaction that will let the two companies pool resources to pursue biometric opportunities.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of the year.

Viisage's purchase of Identix, Minnetonka, Minn., will create a combined company to be headquartered in Stamford, Conn.


Raytheon buys Houston Assoc.

Raytheon Co. has acquired Houston Associates Inc., a privately owned company that develops networks and network-centric command and control infrastructure applications and provides enterprise management services. Terms were not disclosed.

Houston of Arlington, Va., will become part of Raytheon's Network Centric Systems business. The acquisition will help General Dynamics meet the needs of the Defense Systems Information Agency and other customers.
