Avaya Inc. and Juniper Networks Inc. will combine their IP telephony and IP networking and security expertise to provide a unified communications solution, company officials said.

The companies will collaborate to provide secure, voice, data and converged communications that can help organizations protect data and maintain network integrity and performance, officials said.

These solutions include both distributed IP telephony as well as secure IP telephony on any network.

The distributed IP Telephony furnishes secure and assured communications across highly distributed organizations, including headquarters and branch offices that require mission-critical wide area networks to support voice, video and data. The secure IP telephony on any network enables enhanced security, intrusion detection and optimization capabilities.

The solutions are supported by Avaya Global Services. Avaya will provide services for Juniper products.
