New Hampshire taps ACS for Medicaid system

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. won a $61 million contract with New Hampshire's Department of Health and Human Services to install a Web-based Medicaid management information system.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. won a five-year, $61 million contract with New Hampshire's Department of Health and Human Services to design, develop, and implement a new Web-based Medicaid management information system.

Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will streamline administrative functions across multiple programs and will implement a single management system for enterprisewide program management and processing needs both for Medicaid and for non-Medicaid covered services.

ACS will implement its latest generation MMIS solution, which is a Medicaid IT architecture, standards-based claims administration system. With this new system, ACS will support New Hampshire as it tackles the challenges of controlling cost while delivering health care to state-supported recipients.

The system will include a Web-based user interface with all application components compliant with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements. The Web-based interface will provide self-service functions to providers and recipients.

ACS, which has more than 50,000 employees and annual sales of $4.3 billion, ranks No. 51 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
