KEI wins logistics work

KEI Pearson Inc. won a three-year, $3.2 million contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to provide customer relationship management services.

KEI Pearson Inc. won a three-year, $3.2 million contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to provide customer relationship management services.

Under the contract, KEI Pearson of Arlington, Va., will evaluate the customer service needs of the DLA's Defense Distribution Center and deploy a full-scale customer relationship management program to better serve its customers.

The center provides a unified materiel distribution system for the Defense Department. It is responsible for the receiving, storing and transporting combat supplies. It also provides clothing and textiles, electronics, medical material and industrial, general and construction supplies. KEI Pearson will help ensure that these products are delivered to the right place at the right time.

KEI Pearson has worked with the Defense Distribution Center for five years. As a subsidy of Pearson Government Solutions Inc., KEI Pearson provides information management, education and training services to the federal government. It employs more than 250 workers and had 2004 revenue of $40 million, according to the company.

Pearson Government Solutions, also of Arlington, designs, builds, and operates technology systems for government agencies, higher education institutions and commercial human resources departments. It employs more than 5,000 people worldwide and is No. 38 on on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list.
