NASA proposes recertifications for small business programs
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration wants small business contractors to recertify their compliance with program regulations before receiving final payments.
NASA has proposed that small business contractors participating in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBTT) programs have to recertify their compliance with program regulations before receiving their final payments. The proposed rule was announced in the Sept. 30 Federal Register.
As the SBIR and SBTT programs are currently set up, companies must certify at the time they submit their proposals that they meet compliance requirements.
The deadline for commenting on the proposed rule change is Nov. 29. Comments can be submitted via the federal eRulemaking portal at www.regulations.gov (refer to RIN no. 2700-AD17); or by e-mail to Marilyn Seppi in the contract management division of NASA's procurement office.
