Colorado re-ups ACS for child health work

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a one-year contract extension from the state's Department of Health Care Policy and Financing for the Child Health Plan Plus program.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a one-year, $3.8 million contract extension from the state of Colorado's Department of Health Care Policy and Financing for the Child Health Plan Plus program, the company announced today.

Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will provide multilingual call center services to providers and members who need information about program application and eligibility processes. ACS will also process applications, determine eligibility, collect premium payments, manage complaints and appeals processes, handle correspondence and administer a Web site for the program.

The deal is an extension of the agency contract awarded to ACS in 2003 to support enrollment of uninsured children into the program, which targets children from birth to 18 years of age in families with incomes at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.

Under a separate contract, ACS currently serves as the fiscal agent for the Colorado Medicaid program and performs pharmacy benefits management services for the state.

ACS, a provider of business process and IT outsourcing solutions, has about 50,000 employees and annual sales of $4.3 billion.

ACS ranks No. 51 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal prime contracting revenue.
