EDS Corp. has won a three-year, $59.1 million contract extension from the Oklahoma to continue supporting the state's Medicaid management information system through 2010, the company announced today.

Under the contract, EDS of Plano, Texas, will continue processing health-care provider claims and provide hardware and software upgrades for the state's Medicaid system.

The company will provide a variety of business process outsourcing and fiscal agent services to the state that include claims processing, applications development and maintenance, and system management services.

The contract extends an existing seven-year pact between EDS and the Oklahoma Health Care Authority that began in October 2000. Under the extension, EDS will continue to provide operational support through 2010 and migrate the systems to an enhanced user interface.

The base system developed for Oklahoma is in operation in three other states and is being implemented in four additional states, the company said.

So far this year EDS has won Medicaid contracts in Wisconsin, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Oregon and Kentucky. EDS is the fiscal agent for government health care in 19 states.

EDS has more than 117,000 employees and annual sales of $20.3 billion. The company ranks No. 6 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
