Sir Roger Bone, former senior British ambassador, has been named president of Boeing United Kingdom. Bone succeeds Sir Michael Jenkins. Bone most recently was British ambassador to Brazil.

Timothy Morin has joined wireless middleware and mobile application provider Defywire Inc. of Herndon, Va., as vice president of technology development. Before joining Defywire, Morin held senior positions with several Washington venture capital firms.

At Harris Corp., Melbourne, Fla., Karen Smith is taking over two positions: director of governmentwide acquisition contracts and Alliant program manager.

Christopher Carlson joined Rivermine Software of Fairfax, Va., as director of sales, heading a multi-agency sales initiative. Carlson most recently was with Akamai Technologies.

Shea Hedges Group, McLean, Va., named Dore Carroll as senior media specialist and Julie Jackson as account manager.

Spectrum Systems Inc., Fairfax, Va., named Linda Broenniman chief financial officer, Jana Jackson senior federal account manager, and Ed Reynolds senior sales executive.

Scott Fortino has joined Network Security Consulting Inc., Columbia, Md., as vice president of sales. Fortino previously was with Symantec Corp.

Joel Strauch has joined IT acquisition specialist investment bank Updata Capital, Reston, Va., as senior vice president. Strauch was a senior vice president at Katalyst, a Philadelphia advisory firm specializing in IT and life sciences companies.

William Weber was named vice president of professional services at GTSI Corp., Chantilly, Va. Weber will manage both the professional services and integration and management fulfillment organizations at GTSI. He comes to GTSI from CNT Corp., Washington.

Law enforcement IT industry group Integrated Justice Information Systems Institute, Ashburn, Va., expanded its board of directors, adding six new members: Gerry Wethington, vice president for homeland security, justice and law enforcement at Unisys Corp.; Mike Byrne, executive director of homeland security and justice at Microsoft Corp.; Mike Lyons, chief executive officer of VisionAir Inc., Castle Hayne, N.C.; Morgan Wright, global industry solutions manager at Cisco Systems Inc.; Glenn Archer, CEO of ChoicePoint Government Services, part of ChoicePoint Asset Co., Alpharetta, Ga.; and Steve Mednick, a lawyer specializing in technology-related contract negotiation and related issues.

Susan Patrick was named president and CEO of the non-profit North American Council for Online Learning in Washington. Patrick was director of educational technology at the Education Department.


At Northrop Grumman Corp.: David Zolet to the newly created position of vice president of corporate business development; Frank Moore to director of communications for the company's IT sector in McLean, Va. At the company's Newport News, Va., site: Robert Gunter to sector vice president of operations and programs; Matthew Mulherin to sector vice president of programs; Mike Shawcross to vice president of CVN 21 programs; and Ken Mahler to vice president of aircraft carrier overhauls.

At MDI Security Systems, a division of MDI Inc., San Antonio: Guy Alderton, to director of business development; Bob Mounter to security solutions director; and Wayne Oliver to national sales manager for the commercial systems group. The company also hired Chris Rallo as director of corporate marketing.

At Q.A. Technologies Inc., Omaha, Neb.: George Rizor to director of federal business development from an assignment at the Patent and Trademark Office.

At Aerospace Corp., El Segundo, Calif.: Randolph Kendall to principal director, launch directorate; and Wayne Fenner to distinguished engineer, planning and communications division. In the company's national systems group, Chantilly, Va.: Bernard Chau to general manager, imagery programs division; and Stephen Stoops to principal director, communications systems and information engineering directorate.

At BAE Systems North America Inc., Rockville, Md.: Jeffrey Dodson to vice president of security for the company's Information and Electronic Systems Integration sector in Nashua, N.H.

At Robbins-Gioia LLC, Alexandria, Va.: Retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Rob Bongiovi to president of the program management provider's defense division; and Michael Sledge to division president for civilian agencies and homeland security.
