Cipicchio now in charge of DOD procurement policy

A veteran contracting and procurement specialist is now the acting director for Defense procurement and acquisition policy.
Domenico C. Cipicchio, the previous deputy director of policy in DOD's procurement office, replaces Deidre A. Lee, who becomes assistant commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service's Integrated Technology Services today.
Cipicchio advised Lee in numerous areas, including small and disadvantaged business, service contracting, pricing issues and commercial-item procurements.
He has also worked as senior procurement analyst in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, procurement analyst in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for shipbuilding and logistics, contracting officer at the Naval Sea Systems Command and procurement agent at the Tobyhanna Army Depot.
Cipicchio holds a bachelor's degree from Gannon College in Erie, Pa., and a law degree from Catholic University of America. He has been admitted to practice law in Virginia since 1984 and has been a member of the Senior Executive Service since 1998.
In her new role, Lee will oversee the technology and professional-services contracts, the acquisition workforce, and development and delivery of major IT and telecommunications contracts such as Networx and Alliant.
