Georgia taps Netsmart for human services software

Netsmart Technologies Inc., a supplier of enterprise-wide software for health and human services providers, has won an 18-month, $1.8 million contract from the Georgia Department of Human Resources.

Netsmart Technologies Inc., a supplier of enterprise-wide software for health and human services providers, won an 18-month, $1.8 million contract from the Georgia Department of Human Resources, officials from the Great River, N.Y., company said.

Netsmart and its Creative Socio-Medics subsidiary will provide human services software and related services to the Georgia Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addictive Diseases.

The contract includes software licenses, professional services and maintenance agreements to install the Avatar suite of human services software, specifically the Avatar practice management, computerized physician order entry and electronic health records.

The Georgia Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addictive Diseases is made up of 13 regional boards and eight state hospitals. The state hospitals range in size from 100 beds to 1,500 beds. The division also supports public and private community providers and specialized services for children and adolescents.
