The request for proposal for the 10-year, $65 billion Alliant contracts for governmentwide information technology services will be issued in August, according to Neal Fox, the General Services Administration's assistant commissioner for commercial acquisitions at the agency's Federal Supply Service.

Fox spoke today in Arlington, Va., at a conference held by the Coalition for Government Procurement, a nonprofit association of federal contractors.

GSA originally planned to issue the final RFPs at the end of July. The agency issued draft RFPs for the Alliant Full and Open contract and Alliant Small Business contract March 31. Industry comments on the draft RFPs were due June 3. GSA will issue the awards in summer 2006.

The Alliant Full and Open contract has a $50 billion ceiling, while the Alliant Small Business contract has a $15 billion ceiling. GSA will issue roughly 20 awards under Alliant Full and Open and 40 under the Alliant Small Business. The agency has stipulated that one-half of subcontracting dollars must go to small businesses under the Alliant Full and Open contract.
