EDS wins Medicare fraud work in Florida

EDS Corp. won a $46.5 million contract from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to identify Medicare fraud in Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

EDS Corp. has won a $46.5 million contract from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to identify Medicare fraud in Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, the company announced this week. The 10-month contract has four one-year extensions.

Under the contract, EDS of Plano, Texas, will operate the Florida Benefit Integrity Support Center and Florida Medicare and Medicaid Data Analysis Center.

EDS and its teammates will perform comprehensive problem identification, innovative data analysis, investigation, and research to identify potentially fraudulent Medicare claims from these locations. EDS' team includes IntegriGuard Inc. of Omaha, Neb., and Dynamics Research Corp. of Andover, Mass.

EDS offers IT, applications and business process services. It has 132,000 employees and annual sales of $20.6 billion. It ranked eighth on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
