FATS wins Marine Corps virtual training work
Firearms Training Systems will provide virtual training systems to the Corps to improve Marines' marksmanship and other weapon skills.
Firearms Training Systems Inc. has won a $4 million contract from the Marine Corps to provide virtual training systems to improve marksmanship and other weapon skills, company announced this week.
FATS of Atlanta will offer virtual training systems as well as spares and components. The project will begin in June.
The training solutions are designed to support marksmanship skills, judgment skills with both lethal and nonlethal forces and tactical training. The systems can be used for individual as well as team and squad training.
FATS' relationship with the Marines dates back to 1989 when the corps purchased its first simulation and training system from the company.
FATS makes virtual training systems for military, law enforcement and security forces. It has about 420 employees and annual sales of $71.9 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
