Miami-Dade taps Maximus for enterprise financial work

Maximus Inc. has won a $17 million contract from Miami and Dade County, Fla., to implement an enterprise financial system.

Maximus Inc. has won a $17 million contract from Miami and Dade County, Fla., to implement an enterprise financial system, the company announced. The two-year contract has five one-year options.

Under the contract, Maximus will provide software, delivery, installation, integration, customization, data conversion, training, documentation and project management of an enterprise resource planning software from PeopleSoft Inc. of Pleasanton, Calif.

The enterprise financial system will be used by the Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department as well as the Miami-Dade County Aviation Department.

The Aviation Department wants to move from separate and divergent financial packages into an integrated financial management system, while the Water and Sewer Department wants to integrate financial information with projects and operational systems and PeopleSoft's customer information system.

Reston, Va.-based Maximus, a provider of program management, consulting and IT services, has 5,100 employees and annual sales of $603.8 million. The company has state and local revenue in excess of $500 million as reported in Washington Technology's 2005 Who's Who in State and Local Systems Integrators.
