MTC acquires German division

MTC Technologies Inc. acquires the German operations of Eagle Support Services.

MTC Technologies Inc. of Dayton, Ohio, has acquired the German operations of Eagle Support Services ? a move that bolsters MTC's work with the U.S. Army in Europe.

MTC made the deal to support a $35 million contract awarded in late 2004 to reconstitute equipment from the Army's 1st Armored Division, which has been deployed in Iraq, the company said.

Under the contract, MTC helps the Army refurbish and repair equipment that is returning from Iraq.

"This purchase enables MTC to continue expanding its role as a systems integrator of logistics," said John Longhouser, president of the company. "The operations tempo of the Army will continue at a high level during the remainder of this decade, and our ability to program manage complex maintenance and repair activities will allow our soldiers to focus on combat operations."

Eagle-D GmbH will be integrated into MTC's newly established branch office in Speyer, Germany.

The company said it does not plan to adjust its revenue and earnings guidance because of the acquisition. The majority of Eagle-D's revenues were from a sub-contract with MTC and the transaction is not financially significant, MTC said. Eagle Support Services is headquartered in Huntsville, Ala.

MTC employs nearly 2,500 people and was ranked No. 47 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list of government contractors.
