CSC restructures remaining DynCorp business

Computer Sciences Corp. has formed an applied technology division to consolidate and integrate its operations that provide managed engineering services, the company said today.

The new division is part of CSC's federal-sector business unit and is comprised mainly of the company's DynCorp Technical Services business. CSC sold off parts of its DynCorp businesses Feb. 11, but held onto the technical services unit.[See story.]

Lawrence Hare was appointed president of the new division, which has 8,300 of the firm's 79,000 workers. The division's managed engineering services will include infrastructure, mission and range support.

Hare will report to Paul Cofoni, president of CSC's federal sector. Before joining CSC in February 2004, Hare held various executive positions at Lockheed Martin Corp., Johnson Controls Inc. and Parsons Corp.

El Segundo, Calif.-based CSC is No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal contractors, ranked according to their prime IT contracting revenue. The company had revenue of $14.8 billion for the fiscal year ended April 2, 2004.
