Air Force taps NCI for medical IT work

NCI Information Systems Inc. has won a four-year, $4.3 million contract to provide IT services and support to the Air Force 10th Medical Group.

NCI Information Systems Inc. has won a four-year, $4.3 million contract to provide IT services and support to the Air Force 10th Medical Group, the company announced Feb. 28.

Under the task order, NCI of Reston, Va., will provide onsite technical services to the medical group, which is located at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The work was awarded under the Air Force's Network-Centric Solution Program contract. The task order is the first competitive win NCI has had under the contract known as Net-Cents, said company President Michael Solley.

NCI will serve as prime contractor on the project and San Diego-based Science Applications International Corp. will serve as a key subcontractor.

The 10th Medical Group at the Air Force Academy provides medical and dental services to the Pikes Peak Region, which supports more than 125,000 people, including active duty, retirees, dependents and more than 4,000 cadets.

NCI is a provider of systems management, information assurance, network engineering and systems development and integration services. The company has more than 1,400 employees.
