SecuGen Corp.'s Software Developer Kit, used to build biometric software applications that incorporate its fingerprint recognition technology, will support more platforms with its new release.

The SDK release 8 supports several platforms, including Windows CE, Linux (USB) and Pocket PC 2003, said officials from the Santa Clara, Calif., company.

SecuGen's minutiae-based fingerprint recognition technology allows a person's fingerprints to work like digital codes that are more secure than passwords. The new SDK for Linux allows fingerprint matching functions to be performed on Linux servers.
