Cubic wins $95 million Army simulation deal

Cubic Corp. won a five-year, $95 million contract renewal to continue providing simulations and simulators to the Army's National Simulation Center at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., to support training and military operations worldwide, the company announced Monday.

Under the task order contract, Cubic of San Diego will increase the scope of two previous contracts with the Army's Training and Doctrine Command. Under those contracts, Cubic's team helped the Army develop requirements for the latest constructive computer-based training simulations.

The company will help develop virtual training simulators and requirements for the live virtual constructive training systems for the Army and the joint community. The process involves interacting with soldiers, including those deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, to determine their training needs.

The National Simulation Center has responsibility for combat development, testing and fielding, new equipment training, maintenance and post-deployment software support of simulations.

Cubic, a provider of defense applications and transportation solutions, has more than 5,070 employees and annual sales of $634 million. The company was ranked No. 71 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
