Altiris gets Iraq software deal

Altiris Inc. this month signed an agreement to provide client, asset and server management software and support for the Multi-National Force in Iraq.

The value of the agreement was not disclosed, but Altiris of Lindon, Utah, will provide the software to manage numerous networks and associated IT assets. The software will provide integrated IT asset management, software delivery, patch management, monitoring and integrated help desk capabilities in a mobile computing environment.

The Multi-National Force, formerly the Coalition Provisional Authority, has teamed with the Iraqi government to rebuild the country's infrastructure, including development and management of an efficient and secure IT infrastructure.
