GeoLearning technology to power HHS e-learning

GeoLearning Inc. won a yearlong, $1.26 million contract to provide learning management services to the Health and Human Services Department.

GeoLearning will also provide Internet hosting, security and maintenance services, as well as help desk support for HHS employees 24 hours a day. The Health & Human Services University is part of the federal government's Gov Online Learning Center e-training Initiative. The Gov Online Learning Center at www.golearn.gov, which also uses the GeoMaestro learning management system, provides one-stop access to e-training services for more than 1.8 million federal employees.

GeoLearning Inc. won a yearlong, $1.26 million contract to provide learning management services to the Health and Human Services Department, company officials announced this week. The contract has four option years.

The West Des Moines, Iowa, company will provide its GeoMaestro learning management platform to power Health & Human Services University and manage the performance of the department's more than 66,000 employees via the Internet.

GeoMaestro is an Internet-hosted platform that allows organizations to capture, create, manage and share knowledge to improve workforce productivity, according to the company.

In addition to the GeoMaestro learning management system, HHS will also deploy the following GeoLearning modules:

  • Learning content management system to develop, manage and deliver custom educational materials

  • GeoConnect to power live Web conferencing

  • Web-based class and event scheduler to manage instructor-led training

  • GeoLearning analytics to measure return on investment

  • CompetencyPlus to track employee performance and link employees' educational gaps to training

  • Product library to manage the physical inventory of training materials

  • E-commerce engine
