Five win naval air command contract
Five companies have on a share of a five-year contract to provide research and development, integration and evaluation support to test sensor systems for the Naval Air Systems Command's avionics department.
Five companies have on a share of a five-year, $104 million contract to provide research and development, integration and evaluation support to test sensor systems for the Naval Air Systems Command's avionics department.
The companies winning the contract are Titan Corp., San Diego; RBC Inc., Alexandria, Va.; Sabre Systems Inc., Warminster, Pa.; Navmar Applied Sciences Corp., Warminster; and BAE Systems North America Inc., Rockville, Md.
Titan's contract has a ceiling of about $104 million. RBC's ceiling is $89 million; Sabre Systems has a ceiling of $82.8 million; Navmar's ceiling is $86.8 million, and BAE's ceiling is $82.1 million.
The companies will compete to provide services such as planning, coordination, technology development, systems definition, systems acquisition, and product support for manned and unmanned platform avionics and sensors, according to the Defense Department.
Titan is in the process of being acquired by Lockheed Martin Corp. of Bethesda, Md. Titan ranked No. 15 and Lockheed Martin ranked No. 1 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list of federal prime IT contractors for 2003. The 2004 list is due out in May.
