New CSC organization blends in DynCorp security

Computer Sciences Corp. created a Global Security Solutions organization to bring together its Global Information Security Services unit and the security capabilities of DynCorp, the Reston, Va., company that CSC bought last year for about $930 million.

Officials with El Segundo, Calif.-based CSC said today the new organization will offer security solutions for all aspects of an organization, from facilities and systems to people, information and continuity of operations.

GSS services will include security consulting; identity and access management; monitoring, alerting and response management; background screening services; and design of physical security systems.

CSC's government customers will benefit from commercial best practices in security, while the company's commercial customers will gain from the knowledge and advanced technologies developed through securing government agencies, company officials said.

Chris Steinbach will lead the GSS organization. He previously led CSC's Global Information Security Services. Steinbach will report to Timothy Sheahan, president of CSC's Enforcement Security and Intelligence organization.

"Today, organizations must address threats to and vulnerabilities within all organizational assets, including IT systems, people and facilities," Sheahan said. "GSS allows CSC to leverage extensive global experience and a comprehensive capabilities portfolio to help clients operate more securely and maximize return on investments."
