The Air Force Air Armament Center released a request for information to study weapon connectivity to networks. The RFI may lead to an Advanced Concept Technology Development effort.

The center wants information on the challenges and solutions for dynamically connecting weapons to networks such as command and control systems. The Air Force wants to improve the precision, responsiveness, impact and battlespace awareness of its weapons systems.

Several weapons will soon need datalinks that would enable these functions, but currently there is no standard approach to integrating weapons into command and control networks. More information is available at www.fedbizopps.gov. Enter YEC-RFI-01 in the solicitation search field.
