Harris hits FTI milestone

	Harris Corp. this month got approval for Phase 1 of the Federal Aviation Administration's Telecommunications Infrastructure program, the $3.5 billion project to overhaul the agency's telecommunications infrastructure.

Harris Corp. this month got approval for Phase 1 of the Federal Aviation Administration's Telecommunications Infrastructure program, the $3.5 billion project to overhaul the agency's telecommunications infrastructure.

Harris and its team of subcontractors will deploy FTI at FAA air route traffic control centers, national network control centers, the William J. Hughes Technical Center, the Volpe Center and air traffic control system command center.

The team will replace more than 34,000 circuits, upgrade switching and routing services, improve network monitoring and control, implement a state-of-the-art security system and provide network-engineering services.
