PlanetGov has won a $50 million blanket purchase agreement from the Internal Revenue Service to provide server, storage area networks, blade servers and enterprise consulting services.
PlanetGov has won a $50 million blanket purchase agreement from the Internal Revenue Service to provide server, storage area networks, blade servers and enterprise consulting services, the company announced today.
Under the BPA, PlanetGov of Chantilly, Va., and its subcontractor, Hewlett-Packard Co. of Palo Alto, Calif., will replace Intel-based servers with a combination of 3,000 HP servers and blade servers and 30 HP storage area networks.
The contract, known as the IRS Infrastructure Hardware Acquisition for Services BPA, will allow the agency to integrate and remotely manage its information systems, the company said.
The BPA runs through September 2007.
The two companies and the IRS Modernization Information Technology Services organization will collaborate to standardize servers, implement business practices for server consolidation and provide disaster recovery and capacity planning.
PlanetGov, a provider of information technology services to the federal government, has about 280 employees and annual sales of $300 million.
