Contractors win CDC job

	Lockheed Martin Corp. has been added to a nearly $500 million contract to provide the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with enterprisewide information technology solutions and services. Lockheed Martin had protested a year ago when the contract was awarded to TRW Inc.

Lockheed Martin Corp. has been added to a nearly $500 million contract to provide the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with enterprisewide information technology solutions and services. Lockheed Martin had protested a year ago when the contract was awarded to TRW Inc.

Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman Corp., which acquired TRW, will compete for task orders under the seven-year contract. Work will include applications development and related IT support services for the agency's headquarters, as well as support to CDC centers, institutes and offices. The deal also includes employees for 47 state health departments and for 45 countries.

The ceiling on Lockheed Martin's contract is $465 million, the company said. Northrop Grumman's contract is worth up to $501 million.
