Scientific & Engineering Solutions Inc. won a five-year, $23.8 million contract for software engineering from the National Security Agency.

The Annapolis Junction, Md.-based company will provide multimedia software development. Company officials said this week that this and other recent wins are part of a strategy to establish itself as a prime contractor.

As part of its plan, SES has increased its efforts in growing its systems engineering, network engineering and information assurance core areas, company officials said. It also has invested in a 5,000-square-foot, secure, compartmented information facility to accommodate new contract wins requiring offsite space.

On the NSA win, SES' team includes Hewlett Packard Co., Pangia Technologies LLC, Omen Inc., Software Process Technologies and Expert Network and System Engineering Inc.

This win comes after a recent $3 million contract for information assurance at the Defense Intelligence Agency.
