Georgia County taps Manatron for revenue system

Manatron Inc. has won a $5.5 million contract from Gwinnett County, Georgia, to provide a comprehensive government revenue management system.

Under the contract, Manatron of Kalamazoo, Mich., will provide Gwinnett County with software, services, maintenance and support for a tax, appraisal and geographic information system solution.

The new solution will replace an older system the county is using, the company said this week.

Manatron is teamed with Franklin, Tenn.-based Smart Data Strategies Inc., a provider of GIS software products and services for all levels of government. The two companies announced a strategic alliance in September.

Gwinnett County encompasses a portion of the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. The county had a population of 588,448 in the 2000 census.

Manatron provides Web-based and client-server application software to local governments. The company has more than 360 employees and annual sales of $41.1 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
