Maximus board appoints Davenport president and COO

Maximus Inc.'s board appointed long-time company executive Lynn Davenport as its president and chief operating officer.

Maximus Inc.'s board of directors appointed long-time company executive Lynn Davenport to serve as its president and chief operating officer, the company announced today. The management change was effective Oct. 1.David Mastran, who previously served as both president and chief executive officer, will continue to serve as the company's CEO, the company said. Davenport, who has more than 25 years' experience in the health and human services area, has worked for Maximus for more than 12 years. Before his promotion to president and COO, he served as general manager for Maximus' health and consulting services strategic business unit. Previously, he led specific groups and divisions in the company focused on revenue enhancement, management consulting, child welfare and management information systems. Before joining Maximus, Davenport spent more than a decade at Deloitte & Touche and its predecessor, where he became a partner in 1987. David Johnson, who previously served as Maximus COO, left Maximus in August. He was focused primarily on growing the company's federal business, the company said.Maximus is a provider of program management, consulting and information technology services to state and local government. The company has more than 5,500 employees and annual sales of $518.7 million.
