Lockheed leads GPS team

Lockheed Martin Corp. is heading a team that will pursue a contract for the Air Force's next-generation global positioning satellite system.
The GPS III Phase A contract will cover systems requirement development. Two contracts are expected to be awarded for about $25 million each, according to a sources-sought announcement by the Air Force. A second contract worth $200 million will follow.
Lockheed Martin's team includes General Dynamics Corp., ITT Industries Inc. and Raytheon Co.
