Raytheon buys Honeywell unit

Raytheon Co. acquired the Honeywell Aerospace and Defense Services, an Australian business unit of Honeywell International Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Raytheon Co. acquired the Honeywell Aerospace and Defense Services, an Australian business unit of Honeywell International Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Through the acquisition, Raytheon of Lexington, Mass., expects to enhance its capabilities in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and precision management, as well as establish itself as the principal provider of integrated aerospace support services to the Australian Defense Forces.

Honeywell Aerospace and Defense Services has become part of Raytheon Australia Pty. Ltd., and is now aligned with Raytheon Technical Services Co. of Reston, Va.
