Affiliated Computer Services Inc. is looking for a new president to run its federal solutions group as part of a restructuring of the company's government business.

The Dallas company has divided its government solutions group into a federal group and a state health care group.

Harvey Braswell will oversee both groups until a president is found for the federal unit, which should take about two months, said Steve Person, a company spokesman. Braswell will then concentrate on the state health care group.

The company also announced during its third quarter earnings call that it is changing its focus within the federal operations from one of service offering focus to client offering. The company's federal business will now be organized around agency and department clients.

Regarding the search for a president of the company's new federal group, Person said: "We want to aggressively provide dedicated management to growth in the federal space."

Braswell has more than 30 years experience in state and local health care, and the new arrangement will free him to focus exclusively on that, Person said.

Beside the federal and state health care solutions groups, ACS also has state and local solutions with John Brophy as group president, and commercial solutions within Lynn Blodgett as group president. All group presidents report to Mark King, ACS' president and chief operating officer, Person said.
