Firm aids Afghan rebuilding

Consulting firm BearingPoint Inc. has won a second contract to help rebuild Afghanistan.

The McLean, Va., company won a three-year, $39.9 million contract from the U.S. Agency for International Development to help the Afghan government implement policy and institutional reform measures for economic development. The contract includes an option for two years, which would bring the project's value to $64.1 million, the company said.

The economic reform project will focus on fiscal and banking reform, trade policy, legal and regulatory frameworks and private sector development.
