The General Services Administration wants to charge subscribers $30 annually to use special FedBizOpps e-mail notification features. FedBizOpps.gov is a governmentwide portal where agencies post information about procurement opportunities worth more than $25,000. The fee will help GSA recoup portal costs.

The fee would be charged to subscribers receiving all notices from selected organizations and product service classifications, or all procurement notices. Users could still receive for free all e-mail about a specific solicitation, all postings on the portal and downloads of all synopses.

A proposed rule concerning the fee was published Jan. 9 in the Federal Register. Comments should be sent via e-mail to gsarcase.2002-g501@gsa.gov by Feb. 10.
