DynCorp wins $85 million Navy range maintenance work

DynCorp., Reston, Va., won a contract worth up to $85 million to provide operations, maintenance and logistic support for the Navy's Southern California Offshore Range.

DynCorp., Reston, Va., won a contract worth up to $85 million to provide operations, maintenance and logistic support for the Navy's Southern California Offshore Range.

Under the contract, which will run to September 2003, DynCorp will provide support for the range at air stations in San Diego and San Clemente Island, Calif. The company has been awarded $10.8 million of the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract with the rest of the funds to be awarded if options are exercised.

The Southern California Offshore Range provides range training and testing services to Navy units of the Pacific Fleet, according to the Web page for the facility, which is located at http://www.score.com/ .

On Dec. 13, Computer Sciences Corp., El Segundo Calif., announced it was planning to purchase DynCorp. The deal is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2003.
