Affiliated Computer Services Inc. won a five-year, $110 million contract extension from New York's Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance to continue managing its centralized child support payment center, the company announced Dec. 23.

The contract, which begins this month, includes six one-month extensions. The agreement is Dallas-based ACS' third consecutive contract with the agency.

Under the new agreement, ACS will provide image-based payment processing, employer outreach, check printing and mailing, bills and notice printing, new hire report processing, data capture services and a 24-hour, seven-day a week voice response system for custodial parents.

ACS uses a number of electronic tools that enhance the processing of child support payments from employers. According to the company, electronic processing increases the accessibility of funds for custodial parents while increasing the efficiency of the system and lowering state costs.

The company's partners on the New York contract are PRWT Services Inc. of Philadelphia, and Tier Technologies Inc. of Walnut Creek, Calif.

ACS processes more than $8.5 billion in child support payments annually through the receipt of 70 million payments in 14 states and Los Angeles County. The company has about 40,000 employees and annual revenue of $3 billion.
