Course Development Support Services

Agency: Federal Emergency Management Agency

Value: Not available

RFP: Expected in late November

Purpose: The contractor will help FEMA manage the design, development and pilot testing of new courses, and the review, evaluation and revision of existing courses. Courses include classroom based as well as distance learning, teleconferencing, CD-ROMs and the Internet. The contract will be for 8(a) firms only.

 

Federal Acquisition Management Information System

Agency: General Services Administration

Value: $15 million

RFP: November

Purpose: GSA wants to build a new acquisition management system. As part of this system, the contractor will provide end-user training including computer-based training and an online user manual.

Education and Training Support Services

Agency: Department of Defense

Value: $6 million

RFP: Expected in December

Purpose: The Defense Threat Reduction Agency wants to maintain and expand educational and training capabilities at the Defense Nuclear Weapons School at Kirkland Air Force Base in New Mexico. The school's training courses are being expanded to include all weapons of mass destruction. The contractor will help develop new training capabilities including multimedia, distance learning and video teletraining.

 

Web-based Telework Learning Modules

Agency: Office of Personnel Management

RFP: Expected in December

Purpose: OPM wants Web-based learning modules on telework. One module will be for employees, the other for managers. OPM wants to reduce barriers to teleworking.

Human Resource XXI Century Services Recompete

Agency: Army

Value: $1.5 billion

RFP: Expected in January

Purpose: A broad human resources support contract that includes modeling and simulation and education and training elements. Services include distance learning, computer-based training and career skills training. The current contract holders are Northrop Grumman Corp. and Resource Consultants Inc.

 

Satellite Communications Control and Planning and Communications Systems Support

Agency: Army

Value: $38.1 million

RFP: Expected in January

Purpose: The Army Space Command needs support services for its operations, including contingency planning, requirements definition, mission analysis and architecture review. Training needs such as distance learning and simulations are elements in these requirements. This contract likely will have multiple winners.
