DynCorp gets Air Force maintenance work

DynCorp has been awarded a $59 million contract to provide aircraft maintenance to the Air Force Air Armament Center's 46th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base.

DynCorp, Reston, Va., has been awarded a $59 million contract to provide aircraft maintenance to the Air Force Air Armament Center's 46th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., the company announced Aug. 22.

In addition to providing back shop and heavy maintenance, inspection and aircraft recovery services, the company will help the Air Force develop processes to reduce aircraft downtime and improve operational efficiency.

The work will be performed by subsidiary DynCorp Technical Services LLC, which specializes in providing aviation services, base services, logistics support and physical security services.

"By building flexibility into the organization, DynCorp's Eglin team will be positioned to meet the dynamic requirements of the base's diverse aviation operations," said DTS president Ben Medley. "We will use that agility to ensure the internal transition at Eglin is as smooth and seamless as possible."
