Northrop wins Navy pact

Northrop Grumman Corp. won a $49 million contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide program management and technical support to the Navy's primary surface-to-air missile and launcher program.

Northrop Grumman Corp. won a $49 million contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide program management and technical support to the Navy's primary surface-to-air missile and launcher program.

The Standard Missile/Surface Launcher Systems contract is for five years. Additional performance-based options bring the potential value of the contract to $106 million over 10 years. Work on the program will be carried out in Arlington, Va.

Under the contract, the Los Angeles-based Northrop Grumman team also will provide systems engineering, financial management, acquisition and logistics management support and technical and analytical support.
