Maximus Inc. has acquired Leonie Green and Associates Group, an Australian company that provides work-force services to government. Company officials declined to disclose the terms of the acquisition.

The acquisition of LGA by Maximus of McLean, Va., will help the company establish a foothold in the Pacific Rim, said Maximus Chief Executive David Mastran. LGA provides work-force-related services through performance-based contracts to states in Australia. Services include employment services, vocational rehabilitation, injury management, vocational and corporate training and welfare services.

The services are similar to the welfare-to-work and work-force development services that Maximus provides to state and local governments throughout the United States.
