Lockheed Martin seeks WIN-T partners

Lockheed Martin Corp., Bethesda, Md., is searching for additional talent to complement the team it has assembled to pursue the Army's Warfighter Information Network-Tactical, a $7 billion contract, company officials said.

The request for proposals for the contract was released April 8 by the Army's Communications-Electronics Command.

"We have teaming discussions under way with other technology providers, especially those in the commercial sector, and expect to add other team members as needed," the company said in a April 15 release.

Lockheed Martin's "Team WIN-T" already includes the defense unit of Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., Dallas; Cisco Systems Inc., San Jose, Calif.; Harris Corp., Melbourne, Fla.; Innovative Logistics Techniques Inc., McLean, Va.; Integrated Solutions Inc., Holmdel, N.J.; and SRI International, Menlo Park, Calif.

The WIN-T program is expected to be a 15-year systems integration project to develop and field a tactical communications network for the Army. The winning contractor will perform engineering, production, testing, fielding, training and support.

Other companies expected to compete for the contract include AT&T Corp., Basking Ridge, N.J.; the Boeing Co., Chicago; General Dynamics Corp., Falls Church, Va.; Raytheon Co., Lexington, Mass.; and TRW Inc., Cleveland.

Proposals for WIN-T are due May 9, and a final award is expected Aug. 15.
