Systems integrator SRA International Inc. has acquired Marasco Newton Group Ltd., a management consulting firm specializing in environmental projects, SRA announced Dec. 10.

Both companies are privately held, and terms of the agreement were not disclosed. SRA expects to pick up $32 million in new revenue from MNG in 2002, company officials said.

SRA of Fairfax, Va., provides information technology services and solutions to business and government, specializing in Internet systems development, systems and software engineering, network integration and management, information security, enterprise systems management, knowledge discovery and e-mail management systems. The company's revenue for fiscal 2001 was $313 million.

MNG of Arlington, Va., provides IT, management and environmental policy solutions to federal government agencies, state and local governments and private industry clients.

One key customer is the Environmental Protection Agency, for which MNG provides land reclamation and revitalization consulting services for the Superfund and brownfields programs.

"SRA has partnered with MNG on several contracts, and we have enjoyed an excellent working relationship," said Renny DiPentima, president of SRA Consulting & Systems Integration. "This acquisition will strengthen SRA's emergency management capabilities and add new capabilities in dispute resolution, organizational effectiveness and management consulting."
