SAIC, SETA Win Defense Telecom Contracts

Science Applications International Corp., San Diego, and enterprise solution provider SETA Corp., McLean, Va., have each been awarded contracts, cumulatively valued at $3 billion, to integrate military and agency telecommunications systems, the Defense Information Systems Agency announced Oct. 8.

The project, undertaken by the Defense Information Systems Agency, will integrate and expand the disparate military service and defense agency telecommunications systems into a DISA-managed telecommunications infrastructure.

The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contracts call for systems integration, network component installations and de-installations, and management information services.

Services include implementation planning and preparation, administration, equipment handling, cryptographic equipment management, enhancements and upgrades, network subscriber support activities, engineering and technical assistance and network expansion.

The National Capital Region office, located in Arlington Va., of the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization was the contracting activity. The office reported two bids were received in the solicitation, which was won by SAIC. Six offers were received in response to the small business part of the solicitation, which SETA won.
