Lockheed Martin Corp. of Bethesda, Md., and IntraLearn Software Corp. of Northboro, Mass., signed a teaming agreement to provide e-learning solutions for companies, higher education establishments and other organizations, the companies announced June 27.

Under the agreement, Lockheed Martin Training will integrate and create e-learning course content, and IntraLearn's e-learning delivery platform will make the training available worldwide.

The partnership is a milestone for IntraLearn, said Peter Banhazl, executive vice president of the software company.

"The partnership aims to expand the role that Web-based training plays in government agencies, the military and the high-end of the commercial midmarket and opens expansive new markets for IntraLearn," he said.

Lockheed Martin and IntraLearn technologies together will provide cost-effective e-learning service to governmental, commercial and educational customers worldwide, said Joe Schmid, manager of Lockheed Martin's Commercial Training Programs.

Lockheed Martin Training designs, develops, installs, operates and integrates Web-based training and simulation systems for global defense, civil and commercial markets. Its curriculum formats range from interactive courseware to surface simulations that allow students to learn and practice their lessons electronically.

Lockheed Martin's Naval Electronic & Surveillance Systems-Surface Systems, headquartered in Baltimore, supports Lockheed Martin Training initiatives.

IntraLearn's e-learning application software is used by more than 2 million employees at 450 organizations worldwide. The system enables customers to oversee and manage employees' training activities, including tracking and reporting, registration, billing and exams.
